Hello/Salam Malikam, welcome to my website! I am a Melbourne based Celebrant performing MUSLIM CIVIL REGISTRATIONS for couples who wish to then get the Nikah done.
I’m told that these days most Mosques require couples to first have their Marriage Certificate in order for them to perform Nikah.
I have been a Celebrant for over 12 years and have married couples from all walks of life, different nationalities, religions and Inter faith marriages.
I have married Muslim & Muslim, Muslim & Australian Christian, Muslim & Hindu, Muslim & Buddhist even Muslim & Jewish. So I’m very familiar with and respect every ones morals, values & religious beliefs.
Where do you start? It’s pretty simple.
There is a “Notice Of Intention To Marry” form which needs to be filled in and lodged with your celebrant a month before. This form can be easily downloaded. Then set a date, provide the required documentation and your ready to go.
For Civil Marriages, certain documentation are required. The Notice of Intention to Marry form must be filled in and lodged with me Then you need to present the following original documents:
– Birth Certificate; OR
– Proof of Australian / Overseas Passport
OR
Proof of Drivers License/ Student Card.
Proof of divorce papers in cases of previous marriages.
